Short and sweet article and thoughts on travel for 2015- http://pgj.cc/Msk2Hp - no matter where you roam
This is a photograph which has been editted in the app Intensify Pro by boosting the colors and adding an oil painting style to it.
We went to Wales in September and had a great time and so, in addition to focusing on sunny images [the better to ignore the greyness of winter] with bright color in Venice, I'm going to share some from Wales. It was a great trip to a great country.
As I'm getting ready for the show in Febrary-April at the Polk County Heritage Gallery, I'm enjoying finding warmer weather shots from the trip to Venice. There will be some printed or canvas gallery wrapped at the show. Here's a teaser:
I just love all the textures and colors here [it's hard to shoot right toward or even near a bright sun, even with a polarizing filter.
As winter tackles Iowa & the US, I'm posting images from earlier in the year full of sun, warmth, color, as an antidote to the fierce cold, wind and monochrome sights I see everywhere. Enjoy!
Br-r-r-r-r-r-r....I like living in Des Moines, but at times it's a bit much [today's wind chill, for instance]- so am looking for images to keep my thoughts positive....here's another from our California trip.
We visited Florence and the color shot is from that trip and then I used Tonality Pro to convert it into black and white. Being an older [i.e. pre-2000] shot, not too crisp but sort of like an oil painting perhaps. I tend to like the color shot, but the B&W is interesting in its own way.
I was fortunate enough to spend a month in Venice, shooting images throughout the city. I especially like cloisters and even though this is not now a religious facility/cloister, it is a lovely place and quiet in the middle of the city. And not often frequented by tourists, as it is a bit off the beaten path.
